Why Routarde and Bica?
Well, a backpacker is someone who travels cheaply. And that's perfect, because I'm here to share my tips and experiences which, I hope, will save you time and money.
And what about Bica in all this?
If you do an internet search, you'll find that Bica means espresso in Portuguese. While caffeine is certainly an essential source of energy when traveling, that's not the reason. During my trip to Portugal in 2019, I decided that upon my return, I would adopt an Airedale puppy. I kept putting it off, and I finally decided that now was the perfect time to add a little ball of fluff to the family. So, upon my return, dream became reality, and Bica joined our family.
And why a blog?
There are several reasons why I decided to share my experiences through the blog. But mainly, when I travel, I prefer to live in the moment rather than create content for social media.
