Are you a Canadian and want to drive abroad? Obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) to facilitate communication in countries where the first language is not French and/or English.

There is only one way to obtain the IDP from Canada and it is through CAA (Canadian Automobile Association). Then go to one of the CAA Travel Centres and get your IDP quickly.
The IDP is valid for 1 year and costs $45 ($30 for the permit + $15 for the photo if taken on site).
Note that this permit does not replace the permit issued by your province. You must present both pieces of ID when driving and where it is required.
For more information regarding the IDP, consult the CAA page on the subject: https://www.caa.ca/services/travel/international-driving-permit/
