Here I give you some tips to fully enjoy a stopover in Amsterdam.

First,

if you wish to sleep outside the airport, I invite you to book accommodation near the central station. This will facilitate your arrival and departure and save you a lot of travel time.

Then,

book in advance a guided tour of the city by canal. This will allow you to see all the important points of the city and learn about its history.

For my part, I booked an all inclusive tour with Capitain Jack. The tour included some local snacks as well as unlimited drinks. Moreover, I booked the tour 45 mins before sunset to visit the city in daylight, at dusk and in the evening.

The guide was great and I highly recommend this activity through this company.

And,

if you wish to visit the house of Anne Frank, book your visit in advance.

For your planning, the visit will take between 45 minutes and 1 hour and, preferably and if possible, get tickets for the opening. There will be much less people and waiting.

Another option,

if you want to visit the red light district, the famous coffeeshop, or more places in the city, these can be visited very quickly and are within walking distance of the center of Amsterdam.

But,

to visit the different museums of the city, I invite you to stay in Amsterdam longer than 24 hours. Amsterdam is a beautiful city, and I highly recommend you stay longer.

Enjoy your visit!
